The Story
This application was born out of necessity. As a professional dog walker, I grew increasingly frustrated with the tools available on the market. Platforms like Rover and Wag, while popular, felt bloated, impersonal, andāmost importantlyāexpensive. They take a significant cut (often 20-40%) of earnings, which hurts both the walker and the client. The features were often clunky and didn't cater to the needs of a professional who wants to build long-term relationships with clients, not just complete one-off gigs.
I knew there had to be a better way. I wanted a tool that was designed specifically for the workflow of an independent dog walker: simple scheduling, transparent client communication, detailed walk reports, and a fair payment system. Since it didn't exist, I decided to build it myself.
The Tech Stack
For the fellow developers and tech enthusiasts out there, hereās a look under the hood. This application is built with a modern, scalable, and reliable stack, leveraging the power of Google's ecosystem.
The Future
My vision is to turn PawZee into a service that empowers other independent dog walkers. I plan to offer this application as a customizable, white-label solution, allowing other professionals to run their business under their own brand without exorbitant fees. The goal is to provide a powerful, affordable alternative that puts the walker first.
Get Involved - Beta Testing
I am actively looking for other dog walking professionals to help beta test the platform. If you're interested in using a tool built by a walker, for walkers, I'd love to hear from you. Your feedback will be invaluable in shaping the future of this app.
